Hello,
Hari ini tadi gua abis latihan gambar di second cup, aku iseng pergi jalan kaki along Yonge street dari Union station ampe rumah. Phewww...pertama sih masih segar bugar, ampe sekitar lawrence rasanya telapak kaki gw mulai peyot ;p. Apalagi waktu dari lawrence ke yorkmills..it felt like the road is never ending!! Anyways, slama jalan td gua ngeliatin/observe sekitar, n gw found out kl di toronto ini banyak juga art gallery. Trus td gua juga itung2 possible income sbg a beginner freelance illustrator. Hmmm....ternyata lumayan berat temen2 hehehe. Trus gua mikir...hmmm mungkin by that time aku harus sambil kerja part time di tempat2 spt fast food restaurant juga gpp lah,spy paling ga bs nutup uang kos (ceileeee..). Trus, td sempet kepikir juga, gmn kalo gua bikin suatu tempat spt gallery di mana org2 bs melakukan design exchange,maksudnya there will be work of art displayed, and there will be a regular weekly event at that gallery in which the artists of the work that's on display will attend the event, and at the same time we'll invite the people that might buy those artworks. Di tempat itu juga bakal ada small bar untuk mrk bs ngobrol2 gitu. Tp kalo dipikir2 untuk bikin gitu gw juga ga gitu niat, first, masa modal pertama buat bikin tempatnya dari bonyok lage?n ga murah lohhh. second, although it might make a good money, it's not realy my interest afterall. Wahhh..pokoknya slama jalan tadi gw banyak mikir ttg kerjaan in the future (Mungkin saking kelamaan jalan jd banyak waktu utk mikir hehehhe btw gua td jalan kaki 4.5 jam).
ya udah, that's my day. caooooooo..

Trus yg satunya itu aku pake-in effect di photoshop (the left one), and I sort od like it though. I think it looks good in graphical style :)

Ini adalah karya pensil yg aku buat. Nah yg pertama nih hayo bisa tebak ga sapa??? :) U know what, let me tell you a funny story...: waktu abis gambar ini aku kasihliat ke vera (one of my rommates), trus aku yg dengan pedenya udah yakin kalo gambaranku mirip ama org aslinya, nanya ama dia: "ver, tau ga ini sapa?!" Trus vera diam bentar ngeliatin tuh gambar trus bilang gini, "oh von, ini org gereja ya?" bhauhauhauhaha trus gua bilang, "HIKS, ga mirip ya?! itu Britney Spears tauu?!" Trus abis itu aku tanya ama vera apanya sih yg ga mirip, n dia bilang kalo belahan dagunya terlalu kentara makanya jd keliatan mukanya tua (kl britney kan lebih muda gitchu). After that, aku hapus dikit bagian belahan dagu itu jadi lebih mudaan dikit deh skrg heheh. Anwyays, dari feedback yg dikasih itu aku jd blajar deh kalo saat gambar muka, kalo linesnya kebanyakan bakal mempengaruhi untuk jd kliatan lebih tua :). Hikmahnya: Jangan terlalu pede hehehe, n an honest answer from your friend is sometimes an important input :)

Hi, ini contoh salah satu karya gw karikatur dari Cameron Diaz. I remembered waktu itu gw lg blajar di Second Cup trus bosen, n gw neliat ada majalah di depan gw yg ada gambar Cameron Diaz ini, so aku coba2 gambar2 deh :) Wkt itu jg sempat ngegambar karikatur dari Robin Williams, tp it's too sketchy jd aku ga scan.
Gw lumayan suka doing caricature, eventhough I know kalo ngegambar masih ga mirip, but for me learning caricature is a challenge (at least for now), because in caricature you've to somehow "twist" somebody's face around but yet still showing a likeness of that person.

Hi, welcome to my blog!

Gw skola di OCAD, bagian illustration. Skrg lg berusaha prepare diri buat jd freelance illustrator. Tinggal 2 taon lage neh lulus. Serem??!! ada juga lah, tapi yg pasti gw bener2 caya ama Tuhan kalo dia bakal take care of everything. Maksudnya..walaupun kayaknya susah buat cari kerja cepat and dapet working permit sbg illustrator, but I just believe that nothing is impossible for God :)

Di blog ini kalian yg ngebaca bakal ngeliat pergumulan alias kesusahan or keluh kesah gw menjalani idup sbg seorang illustrator wannabe, plus juga beberapa karya2 gw. Also, kalo mau ngritik hasil2 karya gw you are so welcomed :) Gw ga akan marah, paling juga bete doang hahahha j/k I believe that we need critique in order to improve ourselves, right?! Lebih better lg kalo juga bisa ngasih masukan juga, so bukan cuma kritik doang.
